The 1966 Shelby GT350 is a legendary piece of American muscle car history, and one of these rare machines is set to cross the auction block at RM Sotheby’s in Paris on February 4. With an estimated value between $155,000 and $210,000, this particular example is documented in the Shelby American Automobile Club (SAAC) Registry and retains its classic white paint with blue racing stripes.
Under the hood, the GT350 is powered by a high-performance 289-cubic-inch “K-code” V8 engine paired with a four-speed Borg Warner T-10 manual transmission. Originally delivered to Ford Advanced Vehicles in the United Kingdom, the car was later sent to France, where it was sold in 1967 via Inter-Sport, an official Shelby distributor. It spent decades in France, passing through a handful of owners before being acquired by The Curated Collection in Belgium in 2014.
According to expert historian Marc Rabineau, this car—chassis SFM 6S947—resurfaced in 2006, when it had only had four French owners. At one point, it was repainted blue but was later restored to its original white-and-blue livery. The interior maintains classic Shelby touches, including a dash-mounted tachometer, a Shelby-branded steering wheel, and bucket seats with Ray Brown lap belts.
The GT350’s authenticity has been verified by SAAC registrar Howard Pardee, confirming its confidential Ford serial number. However, it should be noted that the Shelby plate on the driver’s side is not original, and the SFM stamping on the passenger-side wing appears to have been etched rather than stamped. Modifications include a dual-bowl brake master cylinder, non-original rear brake lines, and a replacement rear axle.
