Mustang sales plummeted to 128,189 units in 1990, down 39% versus prior year. The 25th anniversary of the Mustang was celebrated with a galloping pony badge placed on the dash of all Mustangs built between April 17, 1989 and April 17, 1990. It did nothing to drive demand for the Mustang.
