New for 2018 is the availability of a convertible if you purchase the EcoBoost Standard Mustang. The V-6 Mustang is no longer available because the I-4 Turbo has more power and most likely there is a cost savings for Ford.

In the mechanical arena is a new 10 speed SelectShift automatic transmission and a MT82-D4 manual transmission for the GT series only. The new manual transmission also includes a dual mass flywheel, twin disc clutch and different gearing.
