Sam CarLegion on YouTube has got another drag race for us! This time it’s between a 2024 Ford Mustang GT and a 2024 Nissan Nismo Z! While the Mustang boasts a bigger engine and more horsepower, the Nissan has a weight advantage and wider, stickier tires.
Packing a powerful 5.0L V8 engine with direct fuel injection, the Mustang GT boasts 486 horsepower and 418 lb-ft of torque. Power is channeled through a responsive 10-speed automatic transmission, propelling the rear wheels. This American muscle car weighs in at 3,947 lb (1,790 kg).
The Nismo Z throws down the gauntlet with a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 engine, churning out 420 horsepower and 384 lb-ft of torque. A 9-speed automatic transmission efficiently manages power delivery to the rear wheels. The Nismo Z boasts a curb weight of 3,744 lb (1,680 kg).
