Sam CarLegion on YouTube is back with another drag race this time between two iconic Ford models: the Ford Explorer ST and Ford Mustang GT. These two cars are evenly matched in terms of horsepower.

The Explorer ST is a three-row SUV equipped with a 3.0L V6 twin-turbo engine, producing 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. Meanwhile, the Mustang GT, powered by a 5.0L V8 naturally aspirated engine, boasted 486 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque.

However, the 2024 Mustang GT had a significant weight advantage, weighing in at 3,827 pounds compared to the Explorer SD’s 4,853 pounds. This weight difference, combined with the Mustang’s rear-wheel drive setup and manual transmission, gave it a clear edge in terms of acceleration.

Who’s going to come out on top? Well, based on the numbers alone, we can easily determine which one is going to be the winner here, but we suggest that you should still watch the video to see how things went down on the drag strip!
