The Economical V8
The 302 cubic inch engine was introduced in 1968 to the Mustang and continued to be offered in 1970 and then again in 1971. The 302 was marketed as the “economical 302-2v” and was the base Mustang V8 engine and was standard on the Mach 1. The Mustang also had the proden three-speed manual transmission as standard.
