The Fast Lane Car channel on YouTube has got another interesting drag race for us! This time it’s between a brand new 2024 Mustang GT against a 10-year old BMW i8.
The 2024 Ford Mustang GT, America’s classic muscle car, packs a 5.0L V8 engine with 486 horsepower and a 10-speed automatic transmission. On the other hand, the i8, a futuristic hybrid, uses a smaller 1.5L turbocharged 3-cylinder engine along with electric motors for a total of 357 horsepower. It also has all-wheel drive.
It’s also worth noting that the race took place at high altitude, where regular engines lose power because of the thinner air. The i8’s electric motor doesn’t rely on air, so it can keep its full punch. This gives the i8 an advantage over the Mustang.
