The Shelby GT350 debuted in 1965, it was powered by a tuned version of Ford’s 289ci (4.7-litre) small-block V8, delivering 306bhp, with competition variants offering 340-360bhp or even a 400bhp supercharged option. Initially, the GT350 came with a four-speed Borg-Warner manual transmission, though a three-speed automatic was later offered.
To handle its boosted performance, the GT350 was equipped with upgraded components like optional Kelsey-Hayes front disc brakes, a stronger Ford Galaxie rear axle, Koni adjustable shocks, and aluminum-alloy wheels. Early models were built without rear seats, classifying the car as a two-seater sports car.
Externally, Shelby’s GT350 was distinguished by racing stripes along the centerline. Although it resembled the standard Mustang, its performance was incomparable. Shelby continued modifying Mustangs until 1970, creating one of the most iconic muscle cars of the 1960s.
This 1967 Shelby Mustang GT350 fastback is one of just 1,174 units produced for that model year, and one of 353 fitted with a 289ci V8 engine paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. The car was completed on May 19, 1967, and initially delivered to Eger Motors in McKeesport, Pennsylvania.
It features a Wimbledon White exterior with a black vinyl interior. The car is equipped with several performance and convenience upgrades, including the Extra Cooling Package, the Competition Handling Package, the Interior Décor Group, the Visibility Group, and the Convenience Group.
Additional features include a limited-slip differential, roll bar, functional hood scoops, a rear spoiler, power-assisted front disc brakes, power steering, 10-spoke 15″ Kelsey-Hayes aluminum wheels, a folding rear bench seat, an AM/FM radio, and a heater.
