The 2022 Ford Shelby GT500 Heritage Edition commemorates the 55th anniversary of the original Mustang-based Shelby GT500, serving as a fitting farewell to this generation of the GT500. Much like the Heritage editions of the 2006 Ford GT and the 2020 Shelby GT350, it pays tribute to its iconic predecessor.
Drawing inspiration from the color scheme of the 1967 GT500, the 2022 Heritage Edition boasts a striking Brittany Blue paint with two available stripe options: Wimbledon White or Absolute Black. While vinyl stripes come standard, a hand-painted version is offered for an additional $12,500.
With just 354 miles on the odometer, this GT500 Heritage Edition pushes performance boundaries with a factory-rated 760 HP, delivered through a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 engine paired with a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The car can rocket from 0 to 60 MPH in just 3.5 seconds, with a top speed of 180 MPH.
Further enhancing its capabilities, this model includes the $18,500 optional Carbon Fiber Track Pack, and the hand-painted Wimbledon White stripes are an extra $12,500. The Technology Package adds modern comforts like a Bang & Olufsen 12-speaker stereo, voice-activated SYNC 3 with an 8-inch touchscreen, navigation, and blind spot/cross-traffic alerts.
Inside, the Recaro seats are upholstered in Ebony leather with microsuede inserts and gray accents. As part of the Carbon Fiber Track Pack, the rear seats were removed to save weight. The performance-focused setup also includes a carbon-fiber rear wing, HID headlights, Brembo brake calipers, MagneRide dampers, and 20-inch exposed carbon-fiber wheels.
