Mustang Of The Day: 2012 Ford Mustang Shelby GT350 Convertible

The 2012 Shelby GT350 showcased a bold, aggressive design that immediately caught the eye. Its custom styling included a sweeping front fascia with an integrated chin spoiler and a redesigned hood featuring a prominent air scoop. The custom stripe kit was a standout feature, with dual racing stripes running from front to rear and distinctive side striping adorned with “G.T. 350” emblems near the front fender wells.

At the rear, the GT350 boasted a new bumper design, unique Shelby custom tail lights, and a Shelby logo on the rear deck lid. Unlike the previous year, which offered only a white paint scheme, the 2012 model introduced Kona Blue and Race Red as additional color options.

For the first time since 1970, a convertible version of the GT350 was also available. The interior saw subtle upgrades, including pillar-mounted gauges and Shelby-branded front floor mats. All 2012 GT350s featured a sequentially numbered dash placard, confirming each car’s authenticity.

Customers had three powertrain options for the 5.0L V8 engine, ranging from a 430-hp naturally aspirated version to a 525-hp supercharged engine and a 624-hp Whipple supercharged variant. The base V8 could be paired with an optional automatic transmission, while the supercharged versions were exclusively available with a manual transmission.
