Carroll Shelby may no longer be with us, but his high-performance legacy continues with the 2021 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500. This modern muscle car takes the concept to extreme levels, packing 760 horsepower and launching from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds.
Massive Brembo brakes with 16.5-inch front and 14.6-inch rear ventilated discs provide serious stopping power. The GT500 also features an independent rear suspension, Ford’s MagneRide damping system, adjustable power steering, and five selectable drive modes: Normal, Sport, Track, Drag, and Weather.
This 2021 GT500, listed on Bring A Trailer, has just 1,605 miles on the odometer. It stands out in Grabber Yellow with Bright White vinyl stripes. The aggressive look is further enhanced by exposed carbon-fiber 20-inch seven-spoke wheels, a louvered hood, HID headlights, a rear wing, and LED taillights with sequential turn signals. Equipped with the Carbon Fiber Track Pack, it also includes front splitter wickers and a manually adjustable carbon-fiber rear wing.
The cabin features Recaro front seats upholstered in Ebony leather with Miko suede inserts. The rear seats were removed as part of the Carbon Fiber Track Pack to save weight. Tech features include an 8-inch SYNC 3 infotainment system, dual-zone automatic climate control, cruise control, and Ford Track Apps. The optional Technology Package adds a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, voice-activated navigation, and BLIS blind-spot monitoring.
Under the hood, the GT500 is powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter Predator V8 with an air-to-liquid intercooler, engine oil cooler, and a cast aluminum intake manifold. It delivers 760 horsepower and 625 lb-ft of torque, sent to the rear wheels through a Tremec seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and a Torsen limited-slip differential with 3.73:1 gearing. The active dual exhaust system with quad-polished outlets ensures the car sounds as aggressive as it looks.
