Bring A Trailer is currently offering a modern take on the 1967 Shelby GT500, custom-built by Classic Recreations, LLC. This build starts with a 1967 Ford Mustang, powered by a Ford Racing 427ci V8 engine equipped with Holley fuel injection, BBK headers, and a Concept One pulley system, delivering 545 horsepower through a five-speed manual transmission. The power is sent to a 9″ Fab 9 rear end with a Traction Lok differential and 3.70 gears.
The car has a carbon-fiber body from SpeedKore Performance, and this particular example is thought to be the third of its kind. Shelby fiberglass components were added before the car was finished in Pepper Gray, with center stripes showing exposed carbon weave. It features a modified suspension with a Mustang II front end, adjustable coilovers, subframe connectors, front and rear sway bars, 18″ Halibrand-style wheels, and Wilwood brakes.
Inside, the GT500CR is equipped with SCAT Rally Series 1000 seats, G-Force Racing five-point camlock belts, deluxe 1967 door panels, Shelby Signature gauges, and a woodgrain steering wheel mounted on a polished Flaming River tilt steering column. Additional features include Old Air Products air conditioning and an Alpine CD player with Bluetooth, connected to Focal coaxial speakers, an FPX 5.1200 Focal D-class amplifier, and a subwoofer.
