What happens when you pit an iconic American muscle car against a precision-engineered European coupe in a drag race? That’s exactly what carwow set out to discover, pitting a U.S.-spec Ford Mustang GT against a BMW M2 in a series of drag races.
The Ford Mustang GT, boasts a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 pushing out 486 horsepower and 567 Nm of torque (in U.S.-spec trim). A 10-speed automatic gearbox channels power to the rear wheels. On the other hand, the BMW M2 is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six engine, it produces 480 horsepower and 600 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via an 8-speed automatic gearbox.
We won’t spoil you the results, so you better watch the video on how it all went down on the drag strip!
