In 1965, Carroll Shelby transformed the Ford Mustang from a modest coupe into a track-ready machine with the Shelby GT350. Over the next five years, Shelby American built various high-performance Mustang models until Shelby ended his contract with Ford in 1969.
In 2006, Shelby reunited with Ford to create the Shelby GT-H for Hertz, mirroring the GT350-H rental program from 40 years earlier. Due to its success, Ford and Shelby American introduced the Shelby GT in 2007 for the public. It features a 4.6L V8 with a Ford Racing FR1 Power Pack, producing 319 HP. Performance upgrades included a lowered suspension with revised dampers, springs, and sway bars.
Now available on PCARMARKET, this 2007 Ford Shelby GT is a pristine example, showing just 233 miles on the odometer. It is finished in Performance White with silver racing stripes and rides on 18-inch polished aluminum wheels with original BF Goodrich g-Force T/A tires. Notable design elements distinguishing the Shelby GT from a standard Mustang GT include a unique front and rear fascia, hood scoop, hood pins, side scoops, a billet front grille insert, and Shelby badging.
The Dark Charcoal leather cabin features a power driver’s seat, GT-branded door sills, a Hurst short-throw shifter, a three-spoke leather steering wheel, and an aluminum plaque marking it as #1,716 of the production run. Other features include air conditioning, cruise control, keyless entry, Shelby-embroidered floor mats, and a Shaker 1000 audio system.
The 4.6L V8 has a 90mm cold air intake, Pro-Cal Performance Calibration, and a high-flow X-pipe exhaust with performance mufflers. It delivers 319 HP and 330 lb.-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a Tremec TR3650 5-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with a 3.55:1 gear ratio.
