Jack Roush is a legend in the world of tuner Mustangs, and this 2017 Ford Mustang Roush P-51 inspired by the iconic P-51 Mustang fighter plane of WWII exemplifies why. There were only 51 of these limited editions 2017 P-51s ever made including this example offered for sale on Bring A Trailer which happens to be #22 and has only 7,000 miles since new.
The P-51’s unique Ingot Silver Metallic finish is complemented by a host of carbon fiber elements and a distinctive stripe-and-decal package. These details, including an Army-green P-51 hood stripe, hood and rear-quarter scoops, and various Roush and P-51 badges, evoke the fighter plane’s legacy. The Aerobody Kit sets it apart from other Roush Mustangs, with an aggressive front fascia, carbon-fiber splitter, blacked-out tail panel, and carbon-fiber spoiler, among other enhancements.
Inside, the P-51’s theme continues with Amaretto Tuscany leather seats inspired by WWII bomber jackets, embroidered P-51 logos, and Warbird-themed door panels. Additional interior upgrades include a short-throw shifter with a red P-51 shift knob, carbon fiber dash accents, Roush gauges, and serialized #50 P-51 badges. Modern amenities like cold A/C, power accessories, and a Shaker infotainment system round out the cabin.
Performance is at the heart of the P-51, thanks to its Roush Stage 2 supercharger producing 727 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Handling is enhanced by a sporty suspension, Brembo brakes, and lightweight 19-inch Weld wheels wrapped in sticky Continental tires, ensuring the car grips the road with precision.
