Mustang Of The Day: 1965 Ford Mustang Custom Widebody

This 1965 Ford Mustang coupe has been extensively modified with subframes from a 2020 Mustang GT350 and widened bodywork. The factory fenders were cut and extended outward to fit the GT350 suspension, and the car’s exterior is finished in a metal-look Steel-It material.

The custom interior boasts a chromoly roll cage, Status carbon-fiber bucket seats, racing harnesses, a MoTeC digital dash unit, and a MoTeC switch panel. The Mustang rides on black CCW 18×12″ wheels.

The chassis includes front and rear subframes from a 2020 Mustang GT350, with a custom-fabricated front suspension featuring A-arms, adjustable Penske coilovers, GT350-sourced Brembo calipers, two-piece Racing Brake rotors, and a Tesla electric brake booster.

The Gen3 Coyote 5.0-liter V8 is equipped with a GT350 intake, throttle body, oiling system, custom cold air box, electric water pump, Kooks headers with a 3″ exhaust, and a Modular Motorsports Racing timing-protection system. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a 10R80 10-speed automatic transmission with modified control software.
