During the 1980s and early 1990s, Fox-body V-8 Mustangs were widely used by law enforcement agencies across Canada and the U.S., including state highway patrols and local police departments.

These Mustangs were also employed by the U.S. Air Force and the FBI. The SSP designation, which stands for Special Service Package, was given to these vehicles, nearly all of which were produced in the notchback body style with a trunk.

This 1985 Ford Mustang LX notchback SSP model is powered by a Roush 347ci V8 crate engine and finished in black with gray cloth upholstery. It features a five-speed manual transmission, Centerforce clutch, Holley electronic fuel injection, JBA headers, red and blue grille lights, and various police equipment.
