The Bullitt returned for 2009, marking another milestone for Ford with a refreshed Mustang in Highland Green. The 2009 model was nearly identical to the 2008 version, featuring a black-mesh grille without the chrome pony and large fog lamps, accented by a satin aluminum strip reminiscent of the 1968 Mustang GT390. Unique 18-inch cast-aluminum “Euroflange” wheels with charcoal satin spokes and matching Dark Argent Grey brake calipers were added, giving it a subtle yet aggressive look.

The rear had no spoiler but featured a circular faux gas-cap badge declaring it a “Ford Bullitt.” Inside, the Bullitt was outfitted with Charcoal Black leather, Satin metallic trim, and real machined-turned aluminum instrument panel inserts for a 1960s vibe. The cabin was enhanced with a machined aluminum shift ball, race-inspired aluminum pedals, and embossed “Bullitt” door sill plates.

Performance-wise, the Bullitt’s engine had a new cold air intake system, allowing it to rev up to 6,500 rpm, producing 315 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque. It had a custom exhaust system, adaptive spark control, and a modified Tremec TR3650 five-speed manual transmission with a 3.73:1 final drive ratio.

The suspension was also upgraded with stiffer springs, aggressive shocks, and a tubular front strut tower brace. These enhancements made the Bullitt more responsive and dynamic, outperforming even the Shelby GT500. The 2008-2009 Bullitt, with 5,808 units in 2008 and 816 in 2009, is now a collectible and future classic.
