This 2011 Shelby GT350 holds a distinguished place in automotive history as the third prototype and personal vehicle of Carroll Shelby. Designed as a modern interpretation of the iconic 1965 GT350, the 2011 version was equipped with a potent Ford Racing/Whipple supercharger and a six-speed manual transmission, reflecting Shelby’s exacting performance standards.
Its development coincided with Ford’s introduction of the 2011 Mustang GT, inspiring Shelby American to revive the revered GT350 nameplate. Under Carroll Shelby’s direct oversight, the 2011 model was meticulously engineered to capture the essence of the original while utilizing modern performance enhancements.
Adhering to the classic GT350 formula, the vehicle featured a white exterior with Guardsman Blue stripes and a retro-inspired aesthetic. A custom-designed front fascia, scooped hood, side rocker panels, and rear fascia complemented the car’s distinct appearance. The black interior, adorned with red piping and Carroll Shelby’s signature, maintained the classic Shelby aesthetic.
