Sales Figures for the 4th Generation Mustang
The fourth generation Mustang was a radical design update and was built on an updated Fox platform. Ford offered two engine options, the 3.8L V-6 engine and the 5.0L V-8 engine and the car was a better performer all around. Coupe and convertible models continued to be available options, while the hatchback body style was dropped from the Mustang lineup.
The sales story for the fourth generation Mustang is one of consistency. The car sold between 120,000 and 200,000 units per year. While sales were lumpy it did not have the big first year bump we saw with our Mustang generations.
