Based on Ford’s updated Mustang, which was now capable of accepting Ford’s powerful big-block V-8 engines, Shelby American’s new 428 Police Interceptor-powered GT500 debuted in 1967. Conservatively rated at 355 HP, with actual output closer to 400 ponies, the 1967 GT500 delivered 420 lb-ft of pavement-scorching torque.
Shelby’s 1967 cars also represented the end of an era as the last built before production was transferred from Shelby American to Ionia, Michigan, under direct Ford Motor Company control for 1968 through 1969. Just 2,048 examples of these potent and highly sophisticated performers were built in all for 1967.
This heritage inspired the creation of the Shelby Mustang GT500 fastback featured here, crafted by Revology Cars, a company specializing in fully assembled replicas of 1966-68 Mustang fastbacks and convertibles under Ford’s official licensing.
This particular Shelby Mustang GT500 fastback, designated as production #147 in the Revology registry, was completed in 2023. It boasts a Brittany Blue Metallic finish accented by Wimbledon White over-the-top stripes, along with vinyl side stripes.
The interior is trimmed in black Nappa leather, offering modern conveniences like air conditioning, remote keyless entry, push-button start, a backup camera, a JL Audio sound system, and power-operated windows. Additional features include a Borla exhaust, LED exterior lighting, 17-inch American Racing Shelby Cobra wheels, and a Wilwood four-wheel disc brake system.
Power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter Roush Performance Coyote V8, delivering 710 horsepower and 610 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a Tremec six-speed manual transmission, a carbon-fiber driveshaft, and an 8.8-inch limited-slip rear differential.
The car is currently listed for sale on Bring A Trailer and comes with a Shelby American Vehicle Authenticity Certificate, verifying it as a 1967 Shelby GT500 reproduction built by Revology Cars LLC under official license.
